I don't have a voltmeter handy, what is the easiest/quickest way to see if there is spark? Sounds dangerous, but can i simply take out spark plug, and have it attached to spark plug wire and see if there is spark that way?
u can have the plug out but the spark tester is a better option alows u to let the sled run at the same time. like say ur losing power at a certain rpm range and went trhew the carbs and clutches over and over. spark tester alows u to see if the spark is cutting out at higher rpms which some times happen.
The easiest way to check for spark is to hold the plug in your hand against the block and crank the engine over. Hurts like a bastard but it is the easieat way.

Hey, he wanted to know the easiest way to check for spark, LOL
And yes that is how I mean. Just be careful I knew a woodchuck/redneck who did this with his chainsaw and burned the hair off his hand from the flame that shot out of the plug hole
The easiest way is to take the cap off the plug, and stick a finger in it, and touch the block with your hand. Then have somebody crank it over. Don't even have to take the plug out. No tools involved! Just don't do it if you're soaked in gas or have a pacemaker lol
