I jsut bought an 06 apex ER
it has 96 studs on stock track in the v pattern in the center
i feel this is too few for the HP
I have always had studs on outside of track with no issues
how many should I have total ( 144?)
what length would be good for outside ( 1.45?)
how many ribs/flats are there for a 121" track ( I can't remember)
I am thinking 1 every other flat on outside to supplement the 96 stud V patters currently in the center?
thanks

I run 144 studs in the middle of both my Apexs 1.325 length and there are 48 flats.

If you have 96 studs on now and add 1 stud on every other pitch (flat) then you are only adding 24 studs for a total of 120 studs. If you add 2 every other pitch (flat) then you are adding 48 studs for a total of 144 studs which seems to be a minimum for that much horsepower.
I ran 144 up the center on my sled because I ran them on the outside as well on my last two sleds and those were the only studs to pull out or bend. I also find that having studs just up the center does not hurt your turning ability as much.
Here is my setup
I assume your setup looks like this...
