I have an rmi driven turbo rx-1 at 22lbs boost. With the rmi drive I have to run a 51" long skidoo belt. Gates seems to be the most durable so far, but not as good as a stock yamaha would be. Anyone have any ideas?

I see that the old v-max 4's have a 52" long belt. Do you think they are as strong as the belts that come stock on the rx-1's from yamaha. If so I may be able to get one of these to work.

I roasted a stock yamaha belt the first pass with my turbo. The belt had about 1000 miles on it. Still I think yammi belts are best. I bought an ultimax xs that is guaranteed not to break for one year but im not sure if it might be affecting my top end performance. Thought I would try it. Its noticeably heavier and stronger looking than a yammi belt. but cost $90

If the C to C is correct and offsets are right a stock Yamaha belt will take 400hp. clutch set-up "engagement" and "belt clearance" will play a huge role in belt life , The more you slip the belt the shorter the life span of a belt .

The old V-Max4s were notorious for breaking belts, don't use that belt. The yamaha 8DN is way stronger.

OK - then the V-Max4 guys around here did have their clutches out of alignment, very possible that is.

ok skidoo belt only lasted one ride. Gates extreme lasted two rides. Checked alignment and looks good. This sled was dynoed at 382hp. I guess I should try a yami vmax 4 belt. I'd like to get yamaha to build me one as strong as an 8dn, probably have to take out a small loan to do that though. belt needs to be 51" long. 8dn is only like 44. help?

thats why I got rid of my rmi drive when I went to the trx, no good belt options, and I have yet to here of anyone having chain case problems.
