What is the recomended procedure for the ringfree decabonizing treatment? Are you simply adding a whole bottle to the gas? Or are you adding some to the gas and some to the oil? How many tanks of gas do you run this stuff before the oil and filter change? How about Sea Foam?? anyone used that stuff?

I am using Sea Foam now. I put half in the oil and half in the gas. I only have 60 miles with it. It does make the exhaust tips a mess. The oil is very black now. I'm not sure if I will change it before I ride again.

Buckeye,
Where did you buy the SeaFoam product? Sounds like a strange name for this product (???). I hope it works! Will you be using it in smaller quantities as a steady "diet" to keep the rings free?

Napa sells it. Sea foam is actually a brand name, like STP. They make several products which Napa sells. I got the one for adding to oil and/or gas to clean carbon and supposedly free the rings. It comes in a 16 0z. can. I put half in the sump and half in the gas tank. I think it was $5.95.

That Seafoam is the ticket! My father sells it at is parts store and only heard of what customers said. I had a weed eater I didn't take very good care of and things were getting a bit varnished up. Mixed in some Seafoam to the gas and it really woke it up. Just run some once or twice a year is all you really need. There is some recomendations on the can and you can use it on a regular basis.

It would be terrific if everyone using the ring-free additive could continue to post their results. I know many of us are really bothered by the oil consumption issue. It would be really great to know if the additive really works so we wouldn't have to worry about it all spring, summer and fall. I'd try the additive but my season is done..... to dam much work getting in the way, now if I could only hit LOTTO.
