Can a Viper shock be re-valved to give better performance than the stock Warrior shock with the clicker? Or is it just a waste of money? Just thinking about what to do when it comes time to replace it (since its non rebuild-able :o| )

It fit on Rx1.
Warrior shock is longer
You can put it on but you will loose suspension travel
It might be a good move anyway, the Viper spring is stronger than the stock Warrior one.

i have olins on mine but it was not cheap. cost me $1000.00 canadian to do all the rear on my war but it was worth it.

you might be able to get a viper rear one made with a longer shaft to fit better.

i have not looked but kimpex pro gold might be a good option.

How much of a loss are we talking about? 1/2inch? 5 inches?

No, I have not, I was under the impression that they weren't rebuild able? Have you personally done these mods? Is the ride alot better? How does it effect transfer? Sorry for all the questions but this has me interested!

Honestly don't spend your money on that skid, swap in something else. Polaris edge, Ski-Doo sc series, Arctic cat or a mono skid out of a later model Yamaha. Much more bang for your buck. JMHO

I get what your saying but to me it doesn't ride that bad, 100% better than the Viper that I had (even with the updated shocks), Id rather just run what I have, winter is non existent around here anyways, Just wondering about my options when my shock is toast. I don't want to spend $500+ for a Mono when I can get into a shock for $200-$300 plus I already have a Viper shock ;)!

The warrior shock is longer because of the damping adjuster.
So Yamaha made longer pull rods and repositioned the rocker arm in front of the shock a little bit more forward.
It was not possible to do this on the 121 configuration, that's why the Rx1 dont have the adjuster.
Technically, it is possible of using the Viper shock at the perfect position if you also reposition the rocker arm and also put the Viper or Rx1 pull rods.
The Viper shock have the perfect spring for the Warrior and it is cheaper to revalve than the stock one. Your center shock also need revalving.
Repositionning the transfer rods allow you to correct the ski-lift without affecting suspension comfort. It also give less binding to the suspension. Better ride. Stiffer spring like the one of the viper is almost mandatory if you do this mod.
Then, center shock spring can be set with a lot of preload. This give you lighter steering and better handling. Your sled will turn intuitively. No need to move your butt down on the footrest to help cornering anymore.
Weight transfer: Dont expect to lift the skis very high with this setup. But acceleration is very good because weight is already transfered with the preload on the center spring. This is not a good drag setting.
The pro-action skid is very underestimated because of many bad suspension setups over the years.

This sounds like a next summer project haha thanks for the info it was very helpful!

Call HYGear those guys do some awesome shock work.
