what should i ask?

Bought a new leftover last march for 4750 out the door including tax. When I do buy used I prefer no mods and low miles.

Bought one this fall, 07 reverse, with 136, 2" paddle, Pilot ski's, tunnel close off, custom rear bumper, 3 wind shields, Updates all done with 736 mile for 3500.

It's a shame how much value they lost! Pretty much all Yamahas fault too. They over produced the first years build for one, and the internet exploded about all the little problems.(most of which Yamaha should've cought in testing) It amazes me when someone willingly buys a brand new one, just because of the internet. Seems everyone has heard about 'Phazers', and not good!
They are a great sled, and it sounds like they have a lot of the first year gremlins taken care of, so now you may only have to change a thing or two like any other sled to get it reliable, and where you want it.
Like Cannondale does, just tear it apart, and fix it, get it done with. The tricks are out there (here) Be pro-active.

I don't know if it's the internet or that it's just a unique style of riding these things that people don't like.

If you didn't know it going into (who would in 2007???) i could see being pissed and wanting to get rid of it quickly. All the phazers a see pop up on ebay have almost no miles. That kind of shows, you eaither love it and ride the crap out of it or hate it and want out.

As a new owner coming from a Firecat & never riding Yamaha, it is different.
I rode the F'Cat hanging off the side of it, ski in the air around corners and the Phazer gets the same treatment. ;)!

A bit skeptical during the first ride and I've only put 137 miles on it so far this season. Redone all the shocks for me (handles early season BIG rough stuff great), read about guys experiences/ handling control and I'm just having a ball on it learning it's little wild side.

Have fun! :-o
