I have a 2006 RS Rage that is stock with no modifications. Now after about 100 miles on the machine I think the ride is stiff and the turning response is slow. There is darting also. I have the Mono set to softest. Iam about 170 lbs and 5 ft 7 in. tall. I like to go fast on trails and do some top speeds on the flowage in northern Wisconsin. Iam on a budget and want to prioritize my modifications.
What do you recommend as a first mod or change to improve my Rage?

Put some sensible carbides on it. At least 6". Stockers are 3.5" If you stud your tracks, do that next or at same time. Then start tuning your suspension once you get it to bite. Just my opinion.

See the newbie by my name. I will get out my manual but what does decrease transfer mean in english? I have read these threads and some of the talk the terms are not familiar to me. I have never worked on a snowmobile but iam eager to learn.

Sorry for the confusion. Newbie means you are new to the Forum. Look in the manual for Control Rods. Located on the skid frame, these bars "couple" the front and back swing arms. There are two rods one on each side. By adjusting the lenght of the bar, you change how much travel one end of the skid moves before it tries to move the other end also. By increasing the lenght of the "free" lenght the less coupling you have. If someone can push down on the sled while you watch underneth, you will see the sliding action of the rod through a bushing type thing till it hits on the other end. When it "hits bottom" you are what is called "coupled".
