What the ? Talk about a 180...

Guys, Yellowknife is right and we shouldn't come down hard on him. If you read some of the threads, there was a lot of discussion on people burning oil. I remember at least 10 threads on topic.

However, QCRider correctly pointed out a simple and inexpensive fix to those that had the burning oil problem. Those that had the oil burning problem and used Seaform, the problem was fixed.

Yellowknife, you should read the posts by VT.RX1 and the maintenance posts by Dukester reporting the results of maintenance from various sleds in his group. The bottom line is that the RX-1/Warrior will last at least 10,000km trouble free, as long as you stay on the prescribed maintenance schedule.

It's hard to keep a tight lip when someone compares engine reliability problems with one brand to some oil usage with another. Comparing apples to oranges, Night and day difference in my book. Especially when he claims that he has researched the RX-1. If he had he would have found the posts about the rings getting carbon build up and the easy fix for it.

Yellowknife I have a Warrior and I put 2800 FAST miles on it this winter and I only changed a set of carbides once! As far as oil usage, hardly any.
WITHOUT A DOUBT, THIS IS THE BEST SLED THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED, AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! ;)! ;)! ;)!

I used a little oil for the first 4000 miles and now I have 6700 miles on and it doesn't use any oil that I can see.

I wouldn't go back to a 2 stroke, thats for sure, I like the reliability and longevity of the RX. :4STroke: :yam:

I think that it is normal to use some oil during break-in, not sure how long break-in is, but I would guess at around 2000 to 3000 miles.

1800 miles done this season with a frontmount MC-Xpress Turbo.
Changed oil last week ,3 liters, exactly the same as last year, light brown,no oilburning what so ever.

And maybe the oil burning issue depends on the type of oil. I have been using a fully synthetic 0W40 which has a very light viscosity and of coarse I burn more than if I was using a 5W30 mineral based oil. Obvsiously it is how you drive it too, if an engine is running at over 10K RPM like mine does all of the time then I would hope you are burning some oil or your engine would seize. When I was racing XC recently my oil level went from the F level to the halfway mark between F and E after only 170 miles. I don't mind burning a little oil if it actually get's burned and not just half burnt and half soaked in to my jacket like two strokes. :4STroke:

Burn oil? :ORC What forum are you reading? The only times I have ever burned oil is when towing in Doo's, Poo's and Cat's!
