I can purchase either one for the same price. The Apex has under 2k miles. The doo has 3k miles. I ride very aggressive and my last 07 RTX was great for the 13,000 miles I put on it. I know the Apex will need a shock revalve and different skis. The doo will probably need a PB80 at some point so it is as wash. Sled will be used for trail riding. I'm really torn! The doo has had all the updates done to it. What would you guys do?

It depends upon what you are looking for. The Apex will be quite a bit stronger but the Doo will probably ride slightly better on the trails. Your call.
Not to rip on brands but the 1200 doo is not a very exciting power plant. There pretty quick but dont feel fast (although they go pretty good) and not responsive like the Yamaha power. Now weight and handling is something the apex wont to be close on if your a real active rider.

The Doo has a MUCH better seating position and it will ride and handle better. Cost of operating will be the same I would think, Apex will have a better top end if thats important to you.

Are the TNT shocks any good? The Apex has pretty good shocks.

I have both and hands down I would take the 1200. Give up some top speed to improve every other aspect of riding. Their is no way in hell that anyone with the same skill level will go by a 1200 with an Apex up to 80MPH especially if twisties and bumps are involved. Top speed, then for sure the Apex will go by. The 1200 doesn't feel as strong as the Apex up to 85 MPH but it is the same. Handling, seating position and suspension are much better on the 1200. Clutching and the sound of the engine goes to the Apex unless you like a quiet sled and then the sound is much better on the 1200.

If you are all about motor get the apex. If you want ride and handling get the Doo.
Seeing that you already had the same sled, I suggest you try the Doo. I can tell you first hand that of all the makes I have bought and sold the Doo's are an easier sell. So if you don't like it sell it. Also, check with Mike Knapp, he claims to have made his 09 1200 an apex beater.

Go with the Apex. I dont like the way a doo handles or rides.

Remember that "I" is for you and your riding style and he may not think the same of it.

I,ve got a 2007 Apex RTX, and weight 175, without gear. I,ve got the suspension set to the softest settings, and I still find it,s to rough in the mogul type trails. I would try the 1200 4 stroke doo as well if I were you., as long as your aware of the issues that the 2009 sleds had, and they are all fixed before you buy it. One of our riding pals has one, and he,s very happy with it, once he updated to an aftermarket clutch, and got the cooling down and the coolant leaks fixed.
Shows you how well the Yamaha holds its value compared to the Doodoo! Less miles and 2 yrs older! Same price! The Skidoo wants to shake your hand and be your friend, where the Yamaha has some PUNCH (have built mine in different ways) but stock on stock the Doo will be 3 times better in ride quality and handling.thats it, really look at the value!

I have owned a couple of both, 2-07 rtx's and 3-09 1200's. loved both, sold them all except my son's rtx. The Doo is lighter, handles better and has a better riding position (once you get used to the rider forward position). But prefered my rtx because of the motor. The 1200 is sneaky fast and will stay w/ the rtx to about 80 mph then the apex walks away big time. Throttle was too touchy on the 1200, so much so my wife feared it. In fairness, I put a lot of money in my rtx's - rear shock revalve, simmons skis, 13 mm sway bar - to get it to ride to my liking, 1200's were stock. Clutching goes to the apex, sound as well.
