What's it sound like?

Took my Fz-1 for a rip yesterday. That's a Yamaha 4 cylinder 1000cc street bike for those that don't know. Put on my snowmobile jacket & helmut, pulled the front end up a few times & smiled thinking of my Apex ROARING & screaming like a the Lion King marking his territory. Then I realized my new 'winder doesn't have this intoxicating straight four sound. Am i gonna have to put snow tires on my bike to hear that musical sound? I've never been a fan of the Viper or Nytro sound. I know i'll probably be trying not to ''soil me undies'' on this thing, but that Genesis motor is mostly how i got OCD in the first place.

I am with you on the 4 banger sound !
Even though I don't have a bike , like you , I make a point of firing my sled up every month or so in the summer , because I want to hear her rumble !
I don't like the sound of the Viper , and the nitro was just ok .
Might have to flash ,and tune the exhaust on the SW !

Once the triple hits 10000 rpm it sounds awesome! Too bad no gear reduction to run it all the time like that.

Of all the things i could bitch about i'd say sound is at the bottom. BUT, I LOVE my Apex roar!

I love the sound of my RX1 . The 3 cyl just doesn't sound right but sure beats that tractor sound of the twin AC 1100.

I see speedwerx is going to make one with a higher hp kit. If they give it a nice rumble like their quiet exhaust on the 2 smokes, you will definitely like it. I know a lot of guys like ulmer, mcx, and D&D are working on ecu reflashes, but as of now speedwerx is the first to announce an exhaust

Wrong section, but I love the tripple sound on my nytro, much more than my brothers apex. In fact my summer toy is a FJ-09 which is an 850 tripple, so I get the tripple goodness all year round!

That's funny cuz i just backed out of a deal for an FJ-09 & i hated the noise or lack there of. You're the first person i've ever heard say they like the triple over the in-line 4...different strokes i guess...

Hah, yup, though my FJ has an arrow system so it sounds much better than stoxk.. My brother is like you though, he prefers his apex sound. Now if we are talking the crossplane I-4 of the R1, then that's a whole other level of aural delight.
