So i'd like to use my Nytro to pull my portable icehouse around the lakes this winter (icehouse only weighs 100 lbs) what's the best/simplest bumper hitch/pin system I can get for my Nytro? Just something that will allow me to hook upto the shock absorbing trailer mount on my icehouse... I don't want to replace the entire bumper with a big re-enforced hitch setup, just something that's a quick/screw/bolt on directly to the bumper.

perhaps something like this? https://www.denniskirk.com/parts-unlimi ... d/5106.sku

Does anybody know offhand what the tube diameter is for a Nytro bumper? 1 1/8 - 1 3/8 - 1 1/2 ???

Looks like it should work to me. Don't by the Yamaha accessory tow bumper. Mine came with it and rusted after a year.

I think Tube Diameter is pretty small, maybe only 1"?

That's the style I have on mine - inexpensive and works well. I pull an Otter 2 man ice shelter with it and no problems. Even pulled my 5x10 wooden shack with it for a couple years and it held up. Only thing I had to do was replace the pin with a bolt and nylock nut as the pin wiggled loose one day (apparently pulling a trailer at 90mph will do that). I measured the bumped diameter and came up with just less than 23mm which is about 1/8" under an inch. I wrapped my bumper with hockey tape so that the hitch wouldn't wear the paint off and rust because it's deeper than the diameter of the bumper.

It would likely give a tighter fit. I have the bigger of the two on my xtx and I don't find it slops around up and down or anything. Kinda strange that the 7/8" one is 10 bucks more. 7/8" is 22.225mm so you'd likely have to open it up just slightly (when I measured my bumper with a caliper it was 22.8mm) but it would likely give the best fit and finish of the two.

Did you drill holes thru your bumper to mount this??

You would have to drill through your bumper to mount those...OR you could get your buddy to weld another 1/2 inch piece to the top and bottom, put a piece of inner tube inbetween so it doesn't rotate, and bolt it snug. And if he's a real good friend, he'd probably even fill those two existing holes in for you with welding rod, so it doesn't look so ugly! Mine has been on for ten years, towed light and heavy, never budged.DSC04018.JPG
