PLEASE - Will all the members "click on" their own profile and fill in the "location" (where you live). It makes it so much easier to understand what (it DOES relate) you are talking about, what you're selling, etc. Drives me nuts when this field is not filled in. Thanks for letting me vent-- now go check your profile...

Minus one.

Keep in mind that many people prefer to keep certain things confidential much of the time when they're on the web. That said, I FULLY agree that if someone is asking for ANY info that would be location specific, (dealer references, engine builders, etc) common sense should dictate that we need location info either within their question or have it on their profile in order to help...

So I certainly understand exactly where you're coming from.

To each his own. I have friends that wont go up north with me sledding because they think it is too dangerous....and cold

But for somebody like me who spends a lot of time trying to help people, even taking view unanswered post duty, having their location saves so much time. Even just having the state or province is helpful if you are fearful of being more precise.

Exactly ;)! were not asking you to post your personal info just where you are. Makes the issues that THKSNOW brought up that much easier to figure out. It also allows others in your area to maybe make friends and help each other out. We all obviously have one thing in common, who's to say there is'nt more! I for one have met some awesome people from hanging out here and consider many of them my friends, there's really no negative that i can think of to filling out this information.

THKSNOW thx for bringing it up

Oh no....i cant post where i'm from somebody might come get me....boo
:ORC

They can find you easier with your IP adress then any info you put on your profile!!!!

It would just be nice to see where others are from and if they are close to where you live, mabye to ride together!!!

Just because you post your hometown, that doesnt mean someone will know where you live.
Besides, as was said, someone can learn a lot more about you from your IP address than they could by you listing your hometown.
I also think it would be a good idea for it to say what sled you ride as well. I know some people list it in their signature, but I think having it in your profile next to each posts would be a good idea too.

OI sometimes won't rsply to wante ads if their in canada of far away necsue I don't want to heave to deal with the shipping issues depends on what the object is.
