I'm sure a lot of you have had a chance to try your sleds now with the TPS advanced. I'm sure some of you have even moved it back to stock to compare the results. I'd (we all would) like to hear the findings. I'm planning on putting mine back to .85-.90 if I don't hear something differently.
I would think that would give a slightly better hole shot than stock and hopefully not bleed off enough top end to worry about.
I'd be curious to hear if your sled ran hotter than before? If your mileage changed? If you were able to determine any seat of the pants changes with the TPS moved? PB

Good question Powder Blue! I was wondering the same thing. I KNOW there are people on here who know the answer to this question. Hopefully someone will share their results. PB
Man, I hate it when I have to answer my own post.

I too will be trying this adjustment. did your sled come stock with the .85-.90 setting or was it lower. did you try the 1.0 setting? I believe it was said that the 1.0 setting was more for the short racing distance. and the .70 setting was more for open riding where you see more top speeds. I will be trying to get the "best" setting. I too hope to hear more on this.

I just moved mine back from 1.07 to .90. I rolled it all the way counter clockwise just to see what number swould come up and I saw 1.347. At WOT that equated to 4.1. Now at WOT (at .90) I think I'm at 3.898 at WOT.
I honestly want the best all around setting. I had hoped this post would explode with experiences gleaned from others experiences. I still have hope that may happen. PB

I think it is possible to build a relatively simple circuit so you can have your choice of two TPS settings. Using a two position switch and a voltage divider network, it should be possible to set the TPS setting to a given value, say 1.0 volts and using the switch in the other position, direct the TPS signal through a voltage divider to send the "stock" signal curve to the CDI box. I try to put something together and post the results.
I asked my dealer about this TPS setting and they do not know how to set it. they read the service manual and they will order a testing tool that consists of a 3 battery pack to test it. can someone explain how to check it and what it should be?

If you are that concerned, I would recommend doing what Jim stated here. Kind of like those High and low octance ignition switches on the Polaris.
In my opinion, leave it stock for trailriding and advance it for racing.
VT.RX1...on the wires coming from the TPS switch on the carburetors, you have a yellow and a black wire. Stick a volt meter in these 2 wires and with the ignition key and kill switch in the on position, with the engine NOT running, check the voltage. You will probably find stock, the volts to be somewhere around .78 volts with the throttle closed. Moving the voltage to 1.0 volts at idle (closed) throttle position makes the ignition timing begin its advance run earlier versus throttle position thereby putting more heat earleir into the combustion chamber thereby making more power. It is a real simple thing to do.

I had warrior with stage two clutch kit and it ran AWSOME!!
THen i added the ECP kit.. RAN EVEN BETTER!!
Then i set the TPS to 1.07 and 3.89 at WOT and it seemed to spin more ,, Im sure it had more seat of the pants feel but seemed to not get traction!!
Now that i have a new warrior.. I plan on leaving the TPS alone.. ya just cant get all that power to the ground with all that low end GRUNT!!
If you ran 1/8mile on asphalt im sure you would notice a difference!

Well I did get a chance to change the tps from 1.07 down to .69 stock. I had a f7 run with me each time I made a change of .10 and work down till I was back to stock. We were running 1300 ft on a pond with 2 inches of hard pack snow. The first run the tps was set at 1.07 .I got him out of the hole by two sleds but after 500 ft he past me and I was left behind on the end by about 10 sleds.Tryed it again ,the same results.Set the tps at .98 same as first time but I was a little more down the track before he pass me.Did it two times with same results. As I kept going down it got better on top end till I was back to stock. At .69 I pull more top end then the f7 but when starting at the line the f7 would pull me out of the hole each time. Now I know the tps setting is only good for 500 ft and no more.Just like freddy said only good for a short distance.

PB you may want to consider the cdi box that advances the timing initially then retards it at top end. Pat Hauck is working on this now.
