Just wondering of how many places area's others have ridden? I grew up in northern NY( Madrid) and used to ride fields, power lines ( No groomed trails) and Cranberry lake, Colton and Adirondack park area's. Went in the navy 1983 and was away from snowmobiling until early 90's when I was stationed in north Chicago ( Great Lakes). Lived in Zion. My neighbor had a camp in Bruce crossing U.P and invited me up and feel back in love with snowmobiling. Wow! groomed trails and lots of snow! I also rode around northern IL and Wisconsin. I had to leave and head to Florida but returned back in 2000 from more UP, IL, Wisconsin and lower Michigan ( PAW PAW) riding until 2004. Then I was stationed in Bath Maine and got to ride the vast trails of Maine! I left Maine in 2005 and got stationed in Norfolk VA until I retired in 2007 than moved back and retired to Bangor Maine. Last year my job relocated and now I am in Worcester Mass. Will I ride here? I plan on riding in Maine with maybe a trip or two to Northern NY. I have been privileged to ride in many area's and of course the Best were the UP of Michigan and Maine. I have met some awesome people along the way to share my adventures with! Here are some pics from those days, I hope you enjoy

Was the U.P. similar to northern Maine? Do you have people to go to Maine with? I pass right by Worcester on way to Maine every other weekend.

I grew up in New Orleans - no groomed trails there!
My dad retired to the mountains of western MD - elev 2700 - 3000 ft. after a snowmobiling trip with his brother. Started on a 79 Enticer 300 in the MD State Parks around Deep Creek Lake (3000 acre reservoir).
A weekend trip for fun in the snow that was rained out sent us looking for snow to NW PA. "The Loop" in Alleghaney National Forest. That adventure, or first on groomed trails with motels and pubs started our passion for sledding.
Trips to PA, then Tug Hill, and finally a planned trip to Moosehead Lake that was rained out led to our first trip to Quebec. To Lac St Jean we went (the only place on the east coast with snow that week). Now we wave as we drive past all the other places on the way to Quebec. Still get to closer places like Potter County PA and more likely Deep Creek Lake most years too.
In 2009-2010 263" snow fell at my Dad's house in Western MD.

We stayed at Tulppos in Bruce Crossing every year between Christmas & New Years. Great area to ride out of. They closed down this last spring, so we are trying to find somewhere else in the area to stay. Beautiful trails in the area.
