We are planning a 4 day trip in late February. We have rode out of North Bay before and generally like the area. We are thinking of trying to cut down on some drive time and stay a bit closer to home. We were thinking of staying in Huntsville or Barrie and riding out from there.

Assuming that all areas are ridable and have good conditions, how do the trails compare to those in and around the North Bay area? Can you cover some decent distances from these areas? Are the trails generally in the same condition as those further north? How far of a ride on the sled from Huntsville to North Bay?

Any thoughts anyone has would be appreciated! Were thinking let's spend less time in the car and more time on the sleds!!

Thanks!

Huntsville, Dwight, Dorset, Bracebridge, If the conditions are good and you are able to come through the week the riding is as good as it gets. Weekends are sometimes crazy busy that's why I suggest weekdays. Oxtongue Lake near Dwight is a good spot because it is central to going north to North Bay 120miles or South to Bracebridge80 miles or West to Parry Sound 100 miles

Collingwood is another place you can ride out of and plenty of day loops. The trails are not as busy as Parry Sound or Huntsville and there is lots of variety. We have lots of snow now and trails are groomed daily. Creemore is a wondeful area to ride, lots of rolling hills, flat feilds and hardwood bush.
