Planning to drop at Port Sydney (south of Huntsville) and go to North Bay.
D103b to D102b, hook up to the D to North Bay - on Thurs Feb9th.

Can anyone drop a note on what conditions are like up there. Any fresh snow to help the hyfax out?

What are the trails like? Rocks poking through, gromming etc.

The weather in TO is still hovering around freezing and will be warm today.

Any info would be great

Thanks
MS

Thinking about heading Huntsville way this coming week-end so I am also curious?
I will definitely be checking out ontariocondtions.com and freedomsledder.com before hand though as you get the info right from the horse's mouth ;)!

I can tell you that the trails are table top, but they can be trashed a few hours later from all the trafic. We still have deacent snow and the feeder trails seem to live a bit longer so it's sometimes a good idea to explore a bit off the beaten path.

Great, that is what I was looking for. I have heard there is a ton of traffic on those trails.

How is snow quality.

Is the snow grainy or has some new snow fallen. I am concerned about burning the sliders over several hundred km's or riding.

Any chance new snow is in the horizon?....

They're calling for a few centimeters before weekend so that might just help out enough. Local clubs are using every millimeter of snow to help with grooming so good chance Thurday and Friday we may have some fresh grooming. Had some warm temps with wet snow so slider wear is usually a bid dry in morning and loosens up during day with temp and traffic. It's a tuff call to predict as its been an unpredictable winter.
