I still have the Yamaha provided rear heat exchanger for my RX-1M sitting in the garage. It came from my dealer free of charge with all the mounting rivets and the instructions on how to install it on the sled.
The problem is, I can't make myself add anymore weight to the sled! I believe that by bleeding the cooling system, adding water wetter to my coolant and installing scratchers to my rails I have defeated any overheating problems.
I am thinking that if I were to have the overheating issues occur again I would bend up a W shaped rear crossover pipe and install it further back into the tunnel extension (where the snow actually hits it) vs putting on the rear heat exchanger.
What are your thoughts or should the heat exchanger end up on E bay for someone who really wants it?
