:4STroke: WTH? I mean granted the rx1 mtn ,etc shorty. have weight issues, but so does everything else! LAST YEAR, with only 250 mi on a 04 rx1 mtn stock I was playing with a 800 rmk and we lined up on a roll of about 25 mph, and I left him like he wasnt even there ;)! I was reading a post on sw, and alot of people knock the rx1 , I really do not post there to much, what is the use! :o| I guess that you cant please everyone! :-o

It's a Yamaha

four stroke Motors are usally heavier then there 2 stroke conterparts.

Four stokes make less HP then a 2 stroke of equal cc size

People don't like change

People are stupid

I have been fighting this since I first purchased the RX1. The weird looks or stares, the comments. The only thing is that they are jealous, they must think that RX1 owners are rich. The best way to combat it is to let them take a ride, they will be surprised. Or just to ignore it. I went the opposite direction, I added more chrome and new exhaust plus other mods. Now they will here me coming, plus they will definitley have to take a second look.

same reason William Hung has a singing career...people ARE dumb :ORC Yamaha doesn't compete in snowcross ......THEY'VE NEVER #$%&* TRIED ONE! :yam: :yam: :yam:

I hear two type of comments:
1) That is a pretty hot sled for such an old guy to which I respond hell I am only 25 the sled is so fast I went through a time warp. LaLaLa

2) See you got the right sled for a old guy slow and heavy to which respond ya hell it is very good for me and then pull out a 50 and say do you think you can run with me? Many a young puppy has more than met their match. :ORC

Scooby always sets up a race and then says hell you have to beat that guy who is older than dirt before you get to try me. They usually laugh befor they say ok lets get it on. Weither I win or lose I usually get their respect. :-o

Out in this neck of the woods when the V-Max4's came out they were heavey too. But those you rode other brands quickly found out what Yamaha was all about. Then the SX's and the SRX's just ruled our trails and people were quick to keep their comments to themselfs. As talk on the trails was cheap, simple put up or shut up then #$%&* off. Now that the RX1's are out it's not much different around here. You learn real fast when you get your #$%&* whooped on, both on the trails and at the pumps! ;)! . YAMAHA LOOKS GOOD!, SOUNDS GOOD!, RUNS GOOD! get the picture. And have a nice day! :moon: Our riding group of Yamaha's has earned the respect on the trails, whether you like Yamaha's or not it can back up all the hipe! ;)!

as soon as i bought my rx1(2003le)a friend of mine thru work who bought a f7(probably our biggest rival sled wise)was busting me big time.well after 2 seasons of this verbal abuse i took him up to quebec for a weekend.we had a great time, the f7 is very quick, especialy with 144 2' picks.but i would pass him at70-80 every time.in the twisties it was pretty close.he said to me on the ride home, im pretty impressed with those things i thought i would kick the crap out of you guys all weekend.no more sled bashing. ;)!

Last year when I was stoping people on the trails, and pit stop's, to find out how they felt about ther RX-1 and WARRIOR's. Most of the ones that didn't drive YAMAHA 'did' seem to have respect for the YAMAHA 4-STROKE. That had as much to do with me ordering a 05 RX-1 as the ones that owned them. Now on some of the internet site's like AM, or SNOWMOBILENEWS, ther is more bashing. But get back on the snow and the YAMAHA 4-STROKE will get some respect. I know this because I seen it...Gary.

Hey rx1forever, Sorry to hear you getting bashed. My neighbor is a Ski-Don't mountain rider. I took him trail riding and he rode my RX-1 the entire weekend and didn't even want to try my wife's Viper. He was so impressed, he tried it in the UP Michigan fluff in the prairie and said he now would buy one, and he did. He went out west to ride the mountains with his Ski-Don't and nobody out there liked the RX-1 mountain. The rental place had one and hardly ever rented it out. So now he won't be buying a RX mountain, he'll just stick to his shorty. So apparently there must be a big disliking in the RX mountain sleds because of weight. If you like what you got, the heck with everyone else.

I listen to the bashing of the Rx1 and the Viper... Ya they are not the fastest sleds out there but guess what I still love my Viper... I will ride it any day over anything else out there.. I rode my brothers Warrior and really like that once you got it over 30MPH... People can bash the sled all they want.. I don't care and just simply enjoy what I can afford to ride.. I wish I had one of those rages.. :o|
