I have a RX1 Mountain, and for me in the mountains off trail, it is a dog
, also in deep powder (over the hood stuf) but on the trail or off trail with some base , its the best sled i've ever had. Some of my riding buddys gave me the ol 1ton thing several times, untill they could keep up on the trail. Then once they rode it they couldnt belive how well it rode. Plus at the end of the day when the were filling up with fuel AND oil.
That really made them resepct the sled. I just wish Yamaha would have come out with the Warrior in 03.

Indy,,, I never got up to the U.P. last year. I did all my riding in about a 80 mile radius of our cabin by MANCELONA. Do any one of you remember a VIPER guy asking how you like your 4-stroke sleds in that area?...
Every one in my town use 2 be blues and greens, but around 8 years ago a doo dealer set up shop and everyone started riding doos
everyday, snow or no snow, they are always bashing yamaha and the rx-1
until our local races this year when 2 rx-1s and 2 rx-1 mountains came
nothing could tuch them (800H.O.s, ZRs F7s and XCs and Rmks) in the 700 improved 800 and 800 improved and the still saying yamaha sucks
does anyone find that its mostly doos bashing yamaha
arctic cat don't do very much and i don't know 1 person that rides a poo that don't love yamaha
by the way...the race was 1/4 mile up hill drags

i bet in the 300ft the rx would get beat up. The off the line power of these isnt good because the track cant get grip. Top end nothing can touch mine. I love my 4 stroke powerband

The bashing is natural. I often bash my buddy with his Road King too. I ride a Road Star and can get there ahead of him any time. Plus I can spend 10 hours a day on it and survive to ride the next day. However, he spent his hard earned dollar on the other product and somehow has to express the testosterone thing to me and try to convince me that I wasted my money on a Yamaha and that he has a better machine. Truth is, none of us built these things and frankly they all have their strong and weak points.
I truly believe that if every one rode the same machine, life would be boring, sort of like if we all rode the exact same women. We wouldn't have anything to compare and strut around about.
What really matters is the fun factor. I might never turbo my RXM because the thought of rolling all the way down a great big hill that I shouldn't have tried in the first place doesn't appeal to me. I am a novice mountain rider and don't give a rat's a** who is riding what. I am out there to have fun, find new friends, barbeque steaks, drink a bit, and do it all again the next day.
Anybody with me?????????????????

Yep...lot's of bashing all the time. Mostly doo's, but I jsut smile and ask them if they'd like to race on the trail. Give a distance of say 10-15 miles (since it's SOOOOO heavy) and can't hold the trail.
But....after leaving them
in the horizon....I'll stop and ask if they've seen enough. Usually yes and gain some respect.
I will say this though....through the river when it's rough and torn up...I have to work to keep up. Hitting corners with large moguls can upset the giant's balance. Oh well...punch it and catch up fast.
On the flip side, I don't think I've ever gotten as many lookers, both engine and ergonomics and shakes of the heads. So the flip side of the coin to me says that this sled gains a lot or respect, moreso than any sled i've ever owned.

Reliably
I will state this as fact!
I jumped ship in 97 from a Cat that was rebuilt more times than I could count. I have owned a 97 SX, 2000 SRX and a 2002 Viper with over 9000 miles on it. I have NEVER been stranded at the side of the trail with over 20,000 miles in total. I also love the faces on my friends every time I fill ones of these things up with Gas!
I have worn threw TWO tow ropes pulling cats home!!!!!!
YES, I ordered a RED RX for next year and can’t wait!!
If it ain’t red it’s dead!!!!!
