I've noticed that the speedo cluster on my new 07apex has a setting for barometric pressure what exactly is this and how does it work?

wouldnt you think it would be a temp guage instead? i really dont why they put that on them. maybe so you know when severe weather is coming? lol :dunno:

Barometric pressure has something to do with the fuel injection.

I have no idea why they put it on the sled. Im guessing, that since they are doing the reading anyways, was no big deal to put it onto the guage. I would have preferred an outside temp guage myself.

Copo where do u live in western newyork?

in the wonderful town of elma where we pay lots of money to ride crap #*$&@ trails lol how bout yourself?

as an airline pilot, i need that info to set my altimeter. as a snowmobiler, it is useless info. the fuel injection uses that info, along with temp and oher info, im sure, to calibrate the correct ammount of fuel to inject. likewise, a temp gauge would be much more helpful. or perhaps a counter to tally how many of my buddies i've passed or how many arctic cats/polaris's/or ski-doos ive towed out of a ditch or back into town. now that would be good info!

As you go higher in altitude air density decreases and as you go closer to sea level air density increases. The sensor on the Apex takes barometric pressure readings and leans the fuel ratio for higher altitude environment and richens the mixture for a lower altitude environment.

I guess that since they had a sensor on the sled to give the info they decided to let us see it. Unless we are setting the altimiter on a plane I see no use for it at all. It would be so easy to put a temp display in there instead....oh well
