Just out of curiosity. Why dont the newer sleds come with teathers? I've only recently purchased my phazer, but wonder why they wouldnt have one. I've had a throttle cable fray at full throttle before, not fun. Can you add one? Not trying to sound like a woos, just seems like a good idea??????

I agree 100%, four stroke sleds should come with roller valves and tethers. But luckily aftermarket suppliers make them available. Incidentally, Cat has a roll over valve stock on the 1100 sleds.

I picked a tether up from Ulmer. You will need a normally closed switch.

I have a roll over valve from Four Stroke Solutiions. Shuts the sled of and closes the oil tank breather tube so you don't spill oil all over the air box.

OFT sells one as well.

I put one on my phazer this past summer cause the insurance guy told me that if i had it on there the cost of insurance wouldbdrop by almost half

wow, il be making a phone call... thanks!

I think it was 1984 when Yamaha swapped the tether for the TORs system. Good for a frozen throttle cable, but that's about it.

well i went sleddin yesterday with my 2 younger cousins, when i launched over a drift and smashed a stone and flew off i was happy i was wearing my tether. now my cousins wear theirs. it takes like under 10 seconds to put it on. i got mine from fourstrokesolutions.

I got mine from fourstrokesolutions too. That was some money well spent. I rolled mine on a steep hill in deep pwder and I could not get back up to it. I lost a lot of oil. The week after that I bought one. (last season)

I ordered a theather on ebay, payed close to nothing. Not yet mounted. It's one of thos that "fits all", and is to connect with the stop button. I see some expencive kits have alot of "extras" beside the "kill switch".
Did read somewhere that it was not smart to run just a theather, but i do not know why?

Guess its beter than having a sled upsidedown revving at max...
