I have noticed the clunking noise on my 03' mountain when decelerating. the engine braking that occurs leads me to believe to an accecelerated wear on the drivers . not only that but undue stress on the chain and sprockets. It took awhile to get use to the engine braking . iI noticed that on 2 strokes that there is a sliding ,free fall if you will, when you let off the throttle. this leads me to believe that the back sides of the drivers are wearing also on the rx-1's. the drivers cogs look like they are worn prematurely after about 2500 miles.
