I want to get the rider forward kit from wildchild. I emailed him with no reply. Are these kits still available?

Yes he is still making them, I pm Kurt once & awhile. But you will have to go to "slowest" to get hold of him. He is really busy thou, he will return your pm or email. Image RX1 kits have really slowed down as, nytro took over big time. I have a wildchild rider forward kit also.

I emailed him last winter and the response I received was that he no longer makes the rx1 kits.

He will still make them. But since he doesnt stock them the price has been adjusted to $250 plus 20 dollars to ship.

Looks like I may try and make it myself.

I wish he would have let me know that! I would have gladly paid $270 to have it done right... it probably cost me $100 in fabrication costs (wish I had my own gear to do it), and at least 10 hours of my time and a couple weeks of down time last winter. the kit I built works, but I have a little bit of play in the bottom steering mount when I'm on hard pack at low speeds.

Guess its depends if you got a tig welder, chromoly tubing/plating, etc. I looked into buing a tig welder the other day, I wont be getting one an time soon, so yes it was worth to me. You get a post, spacers, blocks to make the post be on the front side of the steering hoop like an apex is. Image it takes him some time to make it, welded it. We all make a living @ what we do, so dont except it to be cheaper. I image most will baulk @ the price, oh well. Only reason why I went this route, is with an impulse header its not possible to leave steering were it was.
