I have read a number of threads on this and I am confused. I am trying to figure out which windshield bag to get for my 09' RTX. This looks like the right bag but says it fits with the med and high windshield brkts. Any clarification would be much appreciated. Thanks, G.B.

I believe there are only two types of brackets, small and med/large windshield. The small windshield is so small it would be obvious that bag doesn't fit. If you have the room to put that bag between your spedo and the windshield then you have a med or tall windshield.
Or just post a picture

I have The SKINZ version of the Windshield bag.

It Is the same Form Factor and Works Great.
The Yamaha calls out for a "medium or tall Windshield" based on the original 07 models. The Black framed supports are all that is required (no Pod relocation of course). So Yes that Bag will work with the 09 RTX.

Thanks to all for your clarification on the bag. I just ordered the Skinz bag as I wanted a set of registration plates for the Phazer anyways. The Skinz bag was a few pennies more but I didnt want to pay shipping twice. It also seems like the zipper opening is bigger on the Skinz bag than the Yamaha one.
I also ordered a gauge roll bar from Schmidt Brothers Motorsports. I was going to relocate the gauge down to protect it but then you would have trouble using a windshield bag.

Thanks again, G.B.

The gauge protector from Schmidt Brothers is pretty, but will you also be able to mount it AND the the windshield bracket? Looks like the mounting locations are the same.

Actually, The difference in the zipper on the Skinz Bag was the main reason I bought it instead of the Yamaha version. (easier access to the gear inside)
I was actually wondering if that gauge roll bar would work with the brackets.
Let us know how it works out.

Yes, it comes with longer bolts that you use to mount the roll bar and the windshield bracket with. If you open the link in my post above and look at the pic of the black and orange 09', you will see the roll bar and the windshield bracket mounted. I will snap some pics when i get it next week. Cool. Very interested to see how the gauge protector and windshield bag work together (I mean in terms of access to the bag, does the gauge protector get in the way or not). Post a pic when you can.
