Can anyone post a few pics of their Apex with storage bags that form fit the windshield?--if anyone has them for their Apex of course. Or the link to a few pics...I did a search and didnt come up with anything.

And--if anyone is using the gas tank bag with the built in map holder that Yamaha offers...could you post a pic or two as well. How is the tank bag working out for you? Seems like it sits up a bit high. Does it get in the way? Do you like it? Was it easy to install and does it stay in place through the rough stuff? Does it rub away at the paint on the gas tank at all? Thanks in advance guys!

Not very impressive. Works great for maps but that's about it. The space between the windshield and the instrument cluster is only about the width of your hand.

The tank bag works great; the top removable bag that is. The side panel pockets on the tank bag suck. The velcro opening allows you to stuff things into the pockets, but once full, they expand to far out that it will not allow the velcro closure to reattach. All it takes is some additional sewn on material with velcro to make them 100% better.

I have one on my Apex, I agree that they are not all that big. Will get a picture if I remember. Good for storing little odds and ends, hat, map, broken off kill switch...

awesome for maps and maybe some light gloves..wont hold alot but when you want to grab a map fast its nice...

some things we found last season...be aware the windshield bag will wear thru your chrome behind the shield...

the fix is to get yourself some FELT type washers to put between the plastic tabs on bag and the window....this will help stop the plastic tabs rubbing on the backside of window and screwing up the chrome...

you will need to remove the window to do this properly...Im going looking for some felt tomorrow and Ill post pics of what i find..

I thought of rubber first, but after removing shield I see that there are already rubber gromits under window and the rubber still tends to wear away at the chrome...so remove the shield slowly,as some chrome will stick to rubber gromits....poor design for the chrome.

Ok guys,..

I installed some other things today and had time to mess around with the windshield bag...

I highly recommend doing something similar to what i did,IF you dont want to see your chrome all worn away the back of shield.....

The plastic tabs are large on the window bag and they rub.....one reason is cause the tabs are not placed very accurately which makes the bag LOOSE and lets it bounce alot...also,the tabs are long and square at corners so they rub badly on chrome on backside of window which will rub thru to front and you can see it.

here is my solution...pics to follow..

first off,cut OFF the plastic tabs at the existing holes...they are far too long!....then shape the plastic tabs to round them off and clean them up so they are smooth...i just used metal snips to trim.

now,go to home depot and in the furniture section, where they have the foopads for sliding furniture around..you will see some FELT sticky pads..these i believe will work well.

i installed the pads on the shield bag and ALSO on all the screws where the window meets rubber darts....so basically on the back of the shield...they all had shown signs of wearing off my chrome and sled is only 1 season old...so i recommend felt on ALL.

it all turned out great...shield is back installed and fits nicely,as the felt is compressed perfectly as i had planned....also,the shield bag is nice and snug.

pics below.
