I used the DC outlet via spliceing in th wires behind for the heated shield and Garmin handheld 60cs. It blew fuses so I put in a 5 amp,it was a 3 amp and it has worked. But I will connect it to the battery this year with a fuse I can get too.

I have found a solution to this problem, I found a kimpex power outlet that you drill a hole in your plastic and mount it just like the teather , also has a rubber nuber to cover it with . Still use a fuse thogh.

My dash mount plug lasted untill my first ejection from the sled. The cord and plug were destroyed from a sideways pull while I was flying through the air. My shield wire now hangs about 6" below my high-beam switch so that when I become seperated from my sled, the cord has a straight pull to unplug instead of ripping out. I've only had to replace one helmet wire since then.....

i got myn riged up to the jumper cable spot so its always hot that way when we all stop myn stays heated when theres get all fogged up haha
