Hey guys ,,I just installed a temp gauge on my 04 warrior got the sending unit plumbed in
My question is now where do i splice in the power wire ,,,I can ground it anywhere ,,but where would be the best place for the power wire
thanks

Assuming you are using an electrical gage:

I ran a three wire cable down along the OEM harness back to the sensor and then broke out the wires. There are a couple of close screws than can bolt you up to the delta frame for a ground.

I attached the B+ for the gage to the ignition wire (BLU/WHI wire) at the fuse box above the right foot well. You need a power supply that turns on and off with the key. A minute in there with a test lamp or a voltmeter can verify the right wire.

Third wire goes to the sensor.

The B+ for the gage lamp is attached to the headlight's B+. I attached this right up by the headlight.

Don't forget to get a ground to the sensor. The sensor and/or the fitting has to be grounded to the sled to get an accurate reading. I just ran a short wire from the Delta Frame to the fitting I screwed the sensor in.

Ok, thanks Len for the advice,,,never thought about grounding the sensor or adapter,, wish they would have something on there for a ground wire,,,
Are you sure it has to be grounded ,,I did run the sled and the gauge did go up as it warmed up,,but as for accuracy not sure ,,,but if you say it needs a ground i will
thanks again

W/o a ground, my gage went up too. But I later found that it was not accurate. It alway ran about 160 -180 no matter what the conditions were. Added the wire and the gage jumped up to ~185 right off the bat. Took the wire off and the gage would drop back to ~ 160. What tipped me off was the temp light came on, in crappy conditions, and the gage was still ~170. Then I got to thinking. It is electrical. It needs a complete circuit to work.

All I did was push the ground wire under the hose and hose clamp. The hose will seal up around it. Keep the wire small (i.e. # 18 or so).
