I have owned this sled for 4 years now. I did spend some money on clutching and air box mods. Not allot and nothing I haven’t done on the t strokes that I owned. I have always loved the motor and performance. I have not touched the motor in the 4 years other than oil changes. I have replaced the Y pipes and donuts with the stainless pipes and no problems so far. The problem was with the suspension. First it bottomed all the time set on the stiffest settings. I had the rear shock rebuilt and re-re-valved at a local shock guy (Shocktheropy in Mi). He is a great guy and did a great job. What a difference that made. One of my last trips my wife’s sled died so she road with me. She is small but my sled never bottomed out with two of us on it. The biggest problem was with the rails cracking, slides and boogie wheels going bad. What a pain in the butt and wallet. Over the summer I pulled the skid, installed the extra small wheels from Fix Power Sports, changed the boogie wheels for the 135 mm and had my rails welded and plated. Some said this could not be done and they would crack again. I also added ice scratchers. I have 500 miles on the suspension in not so good trail conditions. The slides look like new. I don't have the groan any more that I use to get at 40-50 mph. The sled rides great. Maybe not as good as others but it is the best I have ever road. I have CA Pro skis with 8" of carbide and can carve up the trails if I like, but our group usually don't push it that hard. I love to drag race and my sled is very competitive with my mods from Ted Jennetty. I don't have any plans to get rid of this sled. It does what I want and don't ride enough to justify a new sled. Every one that rides it that has not ridden a 4 stroke loves it and is looking for one to buy. Yes I spent some extra money getting it to where I can enjoy it but I love my 2005 RX1.
I have a 2004 RX Warrior, stock except suspension is upgraded with adjustable WP schocks and coils. Bottoms out only on big jumps when landing badly. Great sled.
There isn't a better sled in my opinion. I own 2 and converted an 03 to a mono rear. I put 13mm sway bars ohlin shocks and Simmons skis on all of them. Some hav Apex seats and tall risers and the others are closer to stock depending on the type of riding planned for the day.
I just rode the 2011 demo sleds on Friday and was I dissapointed. I have owned 2 Apex and 1 Attack GT they were ok but never fit my riding style (too far forward) but these new sled have redused sledding to no feel straight down the pipe riding. With the power sterering there is no longer any feedback to the bars and as the stock ski hunts and seeks you are constantly overcorrecting even with duallys the feel of the bite was not noticeable and you had to visually watch the skis to se the push or the bite.
For $14,500 I can own and maintain 4 05's and outrun them anyday of the week.
I just came home from the UP and finished (I think the end of the season due to weather) with over 5300 miles on 2 sleds. It cost me an oil change in each. 1 set of Hyfax, 1 - 8" set of inner wear bars 1 belt. I will tear both down over the summer check bushings and re-assemle and grease to prepare these for next yr.

I have never road a Apex. I have a rule to not ride what I can't buy. I don't want to know how good sled rides or how much power it has if I can't afford it. So for now my 05 RX1 is the best riding and most powerfull sled I have drove. Works for me.
