After my ride today I have decided to stud the Nytro XTX. Just basically for braking and driving on icy roads. How many lugs on a 144? I was planning a V pattern in the center. 2 studs per bar. Any thoughts? Thanks al

I just studded my 2012 XTX 144" track down the center. 2 studs per window. I used 114 studs. Also, I stayed away from the very center of the track. There is very little clearance between the track and front center shock. I read on here that others had issues with the center studs tearing up the shock mount. Thanks so 116 studs.

I have 114 in mine, and yes I tore the center shock mount in mine like many others have. Need to put a new track on next season, plan on putting more studs in just because of the way we ride (lots of lake, ice racing) so looking for a bit more traction, but unsure of what number and pattern to use. For normal riding 114 works awesome.
Hey Devil you might remember me from the 2 stroke side. We met in Indian river a few years back. Anyway I finally got a Nytro xtx. My track is 1.25. I was going to use 1.50 studs. .25 penetration. This is what I have on the Sxr and Vipers. Thoughts?

A couple thoughts! The center of the track gives the least bite any way due to the least pressure. The best traction comes from the studs closest to the rail so using the out side belt is necessary for best drag race hook. The bad with using the out side is they are more prone to tare out and studding the out side will cause more push in the corner's. For you guys with the center done I would do every other window on the out side and be more conscious of what your spinning the track on to avoid tare outs! I don't mean to scare any one with the tare outs but it amazes me when I see what some will smoke the track on!

Watch them studs very carefully. Been way to many nytros wrecked because of studs. By the time the heat light comes on from low coolant it's usually to late.
We run studs on all of our sleds always have. The Viper has a 1.352 track with 1.625 studs. I will run 1.5 studs on the Nytro

These nytros have allot of torque and can pull studs out so just be careful. I personally will never run them and know of others that refuse to but each to their own.
