I have been giving alot of thought to the idea of making a few changes to the XTX when it gets here. I am thinking about adding mountain skis and a 1.5" track. I know I should probably just ride it but I can't leave anything alone for very long. Since ridning the Vector LTX last year I have thought about upgrading the skis on it also, they do not float at all. Does anybody know if the XTX will come with the trail ski or will it have a wider ski?? Should I leave it alone or do the upgrades before it leaves the dealership?

I do a 70/30 mix of trail/off trail riding so I want it to handle trail riding but still be good in the deep stuff. The only real complaint I have with the Vector is the narrow skis. With that said that sled has really impressed me off trail, so I am thinking a wider ski would help alot. Will it suffer on trail with a wider ski?

It will come with the trail ski, Also you can do any mod you want to it ( i would ride it first) But remember don't be like alot of guys out there and do all the mods then complain that the machine doesn't work. I hear it all of the time,"my sled does this and that", and then after trying to figure out the issues for the person, the guy/gal says " well i did do this & added that before I rode it. You need to set a baseline 1st then adjust / add what "YOU" want.

I wouldn't use the Yam Mtn. skis if I were you. I would instead get some aftermarket ski's. Wifes Phazer Mtn. doesn't float that well with the stock skis. I think it's due to the step design. I ran USI Tripple X2's on my Apex for the last two years and the front end floated like it was a 600 2 smoke. Couldn't believe the difference. Plus they're tuneable. Highly recomended, really any wide aftermarket ski over the stock I think you will be better off.

X2 - Awesome ski - on and off trail - I wouldn't use anything else!
