Now that some people have some time on the XTX rear skid between last year and this dismal year. How do you like it? Durability? Just curious looking to give some advice to a possible newbie yammie rider and he is concerned about the skids. I know the mono but dont really know much about the long term ownership of the 144" xtx CK skid.

I only have had gt's have a 2011 xtx now and it rides better in the choppy stuff but the weight transfer sucks been adjusting all over the map and got it to handle the way I like it on good snow conditions for high speed cornering but has no traction for take off. It handels ok for the way I ride and rides decent. But dont like it for take off bite. All in all it rides good. put a big excell wheel kit for hyfax wear and your good ,have a 1000 miles on mine now no issues with crap snow this year.kinger said:Now that some people have some time on the XTX rear skid between last year and this dismal year. I totally disagree on ride quality in the choppy stuff. My mono on my attack is better that brother apex xtx....we both agree, but xtx handles the LARGE bumps without bottoming better. All in all the xtx is a more durable skid, but you do have to adress the hyfax issue with some wheels or somthing.

I have the Nytro XTX and love the skid. If its not right, just tune it up with all adjustments. The first Yamaha suspension I've owned that I'm totally happy with. I do have ice scratchers to addresss slider issue.

Thanks guys I haven't really noticed much complaining about this skid so I'm not too surprised by the results. Glad to hear Yammie may have finally made a decent skid.
