Xtx here,the 144 inch has tipped up rails....wouldn't push nearly as bad as a 121 that's been extended.
for exclusively trail riding I would go with the shorty, thats what is designed for.

I would have said if you ride the lower go 121, if the upper the XTX. But dsimps has had both and rides the same trails so it looks like the XTX is fine either way. I have a 121 and I'll be doing the relocate to make it a 128 over the summer. I don't think you can make a bad choice. As it is now I hit 106 on GPS between Gaylord and Indian River 2 weeks ago

That's the other option is get a deal on 121 and if its a bit too bumpy then strech to 136 or 128/9. I had a list of updates I wanted to do on my 08 121 so it was cheaper for me to sell and go 144. I haven't let my friend on mine but he keeps talking about wanting something longer because we ride Gaylord alot and he beats himself up later in the day when its shot.
