Buying a new viper and wondering how long the YES warranty is available to me for purchase

Funds are tight right now, i am hoping to put off buying the warranty till next fall.

my understanding is i have a full year of factory warranty coverage on the sled when i buy it. i was told i have a full year from the purchase date to buy the YES extended warranty.
Can anyone verify that the info i was given is correct.

That's what I did on my 2011 Nytro. I bought it in January of 2011, and bought four more years of YES warranty in December of 2011. I got a mailing from Yamaha reminding me to buy it probably about 4 times before I went into my dealer and bought it. You can either buy it from your dealer or directly from Yamaha.

As stated above, you have a full year after purchase. Might as well wait, no sense in them having your money for a year, it's the same price when ever you purchase it. Also the price on the YES is negotiable. There is a lot of mark-up on it. Depends on your dealer how well they will treat you. Price check between dealers, you can buy it from any of them.

I bought my additional 4 years from a dealer on Ebay for $500 in 2006. Call around to the dealers and buy the best price you find.

I bought a 2015 that comes with a 3 year warranty. Does that mean I have up to 3 years to buy a additional 2 year warranty? Do I have to buy the additional 2 years within the first year of purchase?

Call Yamaha Customer Service at 1-800-962-7926 and ask them. I think you'll find you have to buy the extra year(s) within the first year.

I bet as long as it is still under waranty you can add more. but that is just my guess.

candyredrx1 you are correct. Comes with 3 yrs, you can add two more, my dealor did this for me at cost, very nice.
I am happy to have a sled coming covered for 5 years!!!

You will not get a better deal on a YES warranty then you will from Port Yamaha. I believe they have a 4 year warranty for 500.00. Well worth it

I looked around some yesterday and saw port had good prices on YES.

Rock River Power Sports, usually has YES on sale on e-bay. I got their price, took it into my dealer and said this is what I can get it for (which was about half) I'd like to buy it from you if you match their price, if not I'll get it from them. They have given me that deal ever since, on 4 sleds and 2 waverunners!!

Don't buy it now anyway. You will get offers to buy it way cheaper after. At signing it was around 700 for a 4 year. After I got it for just over 4.

I can get an additional 4 years right now for 450 off eBay.
Not gonna find it much cheaper than that.

Not really concerned with the price because i dont know if im gonna keep the sled.
More concerned that if i do keep this thing i will be able to get a warranty on it.
