Yamacharged Apex vs many

Here's my opinion on the cat Turto! They need a lot more boost per HP than most and that chasis and cat clutches must not be as efficient as Yamahas either. Sounds like generally the 7000 Cat's do not run as strong as a Viper as well. We have been running some speed run's with my 12 Apex with MCX 200 kit at 5.5 LB boost and a friend's stage one MPI Attak at 6.5 LB and it seem's the Cat's need 18 LB boost + to run with us. Kind of not impressive!

Why should / does a 170 HP Yamacharged Tank destroy a 177 hp lighter Cat?

Why can a tuned 153 HP stock Apex & a 155 HP 800 Doo with a 15 " track do the same?

Are Cat's that bad at getting power from the engine to the snow or are the engines Turds or what ?

Based on the results we saw the apex modified was faster than a stock cat turbo with studs. As a matter of fact my stock etec gave the Russian a better race. The stock turbos for 177 hp are not very impressive. I think cats drive line "clutches -"and gears and chain" is garbage. If you watch the video the second race he gives the modded cat all he could handle. The apex is a great runner.

main reason is superior clutching (out of the box)

the doo is lighter and will get the apex on the bottom...the apex has more cylinders and spins a higher rpm which miles an hour better up top.

cat tucks the weight to prevent track blow out etc on the turbo...they all need to be "shimmed"...failure to do so is a completely different sled and a waste...once done and tuned right these sleds rock..but cats drivetrain is poor compared to yamaha...
