yamaha apex seat

i just bought an 06 apex seat for my rx-1 and it comes with taillight thats the triangle one. will my taillight off my old seat bolt to the new one. and i know the wiring is different but what about the taillight. does n e one have a pattern for the gas tank cut off

your tail light will bolt right in. I can't remember the wires though short memory. Maxdlx

Do you want to get rid of the APEX tail light?

You have to rewire the ends to the tail light, i used 4 prong trailer plugs that way i could still take the seat off. m and f on the tailight end, and m and f on the gas tank end, worked out slick.

still have the tail light off the apex its on ebay but make offer. but n e way just got dont installing my new seat. its awsome by the way and if you guys are looking for a trim piec to go around where the seat butts up against the shroud you cut i used the trim off and old sled winshield it worked perfect. looks very clean. remover 3 1/4 inches of plastic

I just installed my 06 seat on an 03 last night and the plug in is the same the triangle is much cooler than the original, I think.

I am performing the swap right now, the plug ends are different from my '05 to my '06. Still deciding which way I am going to go.

So Where do you guys buy the apex seat? I have an 05 RX-1 anyone know the part number to the apex seat. And what do you have to cut at the gas tank? Been reading alot on it and thought its just the covering that makes the gas tank look nice right?

Heres one that was for sell. You don't say what color you want. I got an 07 Nytro seat from Port Yamaha.

Port Yamaha can fix you up with all the part numbers for different years, and Kevin can set you up with the Apex(softer style) or Nytro style.
