hi i have an 07 yamaha attak with hauck exhaust and other then that it is completly stock. since installing the exhaust after the sled is warmed up it only idles at about 1200 rpm and if you hammer on the gas to hard it will stall. the end of my tail pipes are black and if you rub your finger in there it comes out black, you can see the odd drop of gas comming down the pipes and if you hold the throtle wide open for awhile when you let off you will get the odd crackle and if i am playing in the powder and fall of it will die only sometimes tho and then the warning light will flash untill i turn the key off then on again. i dont know if i am running to lean or to rich or if it will do any damage to my sled, do i need a fuel programer? and also i have put on 100 miles like this should i continue riding it?

the sled will even stall if you just give the throtle a quick tap even. is it going to hurt the sled if i continue to drive it for the rest of the season and if i wait till the summer to get the fuel programer. i dont care about hp the 150 is enough for me but just want the sled to run right and have the awesome sound of the exhaust.i have put on 100 miles like this and have a snowmobile derby this weekend so i am concerned. also if u watch the link u can see the raw fuel comming threw the exhaust .

if anything is coming out the exhaust its water or condensation, all sleds do it. how could fuel come out if its running so lean? for now, close off some of the intake, thus making the mixture richer, and ride it till you get a fuel programmer.just be sure that what you use does not get drawn into the motor.

thanks for all the help guys very much appriciated. i emailed hauck motorsports and they told me that the: no the lean condition will not do any engine damage, but will run better once properly adjusted. but i think i may change the exhaust back to stock or try a little air box mod to restrict the air a little bit just to be safe.

Those engines are way too expensive to take a chance on. Go back to stock. In my opinion there are way better things you can spend the cash on than an exhaust to make the sled perform better. Clutching, gearing and track are tops in my book after doing the exhaust thing and then back to stock.

like i said above hp doesnt matter to me the 150 hp is enough i have the exhaust because i love how loud and awesome it sounds. but i am going to order the programer this week and switch back to the stock for the time being and order a clutch kit in the after season. not looking forward to switchin the exhaust especially in my cold garage in -30c weather.
