Has anyone in Canada actually heard anything from Yamaha Canada as to updates and bulletins on the 05 mono suspension and track howl. Here is a recent email from Yamaha Canada consumer relations dept.

YAMAHA CANADA WROTE!

Our snowmobiles meet all Transport Canada regulations. I am not showing, at
this time, any bulletins or technical updates pertaining to suspension or
noise on your snowmobile. You may certainly inquire periodically with your
dealership pertaining to new developments or direction from Yamaha.

This is the response after asking about updates that people in the USA were getting on the same sleds. I also asked about the track howl and all they said was they meet Transport Canada regulations.

Can anyone explain why the sleds in the USA are being fixed with bulletins sent out to dealers, but yet here the main head office in Toronto knows nothing?

I guess no one has this issue or no one has heard anything of any bulletins in Canada.

One would think if there is a bulletin in the USA and it is being covered under warranty that the same would happen here. After all the northern sleds dont have Mad Sled Disease. Are Canadians second rate Yamaha consumers or what. I am not buying Japanese oranges for Christmas this year I will buy the second rate Chinese ones. LOL LaLaLa

I don't understand why Yamaha provides zero information to their customers either...

There is a technical service bulletin regarding the front pivot arm as a minimum. Yamaha Canada told me I could review it through my dealer and I did. It points to the 5 reinforced regions on the new arm.

I'm sure there is also one for the rails and likely one for the wheels.

The dealer's mechanics were updated with the majority of mono-shock suspension issues during the technical update training and should be armed with the information on areas of weakness, etc.

There are no safety recalls, nor volentary recalls on the 05 RX-1. Yamaha has instructed the dealers to update certain parts when customers bring their sleds in for a recommended inspection (you shouldn't be charged for the suspension inspection).

Although some dealers aren't as helpful as others, your best bet is to talk to your dealer in person and ask about the suspension.

If your dealer won't answer any questions (which you already know the answers to reading other posts on here) I would talk to Yamaha Canada again.

Does anyone know EXACTLY what is being updated besides bushings and rails? Is there a new pivot arm for 06? I have a pretty good dealer and I was there getting some parts and he had a book with quite a few bullitans in it on the skid. They were pretty busy and I was running late so I was not able to buzz thru them all. I know he will show me these so I will look at it closer when I go and pick up the new style bushings (he was out of them)
What I am wondering is if he can order me any of the new parts and I will put them on since I have the skid out anyhow.

Rod the only thing we know for sure is posted in the "Need a Fix" section.
So whatever is broken is supposed to get fixed and I cant believe that Canada would not be the same.
There is a new thread in Need a fix which is the only explaination we can come up with as to why one dealer seems to do more than another.
Hope you guys get fixed up that is for sure!
