does anybody know the width of the yamaha mountain skis? would like to put these on my attak, would they fit or would i hAve to add parts to amke them fit. also would the carbides i have on the standard yamaha skis for my attak fit the new ones? debating on gettin yamaha mountain skis( only use where needed up north on the lakes and to the cottage) or to go with a set of c&a's,or slps ? any skis that u "mountain guys" prefer? only have 5" skis now. which work good on the trails with daul carbides, just want a set if the goin gets tough and nose diving becomes a problem in 3-4 feet of snow,

THANKS JP

sorry i dont have the widths , (sleds in friends garage) but i just put them on my attak.go here http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx
under the 06 mountian you need

You need bolt #11 90105-10106-00 one per ski
you need bushing #23 90384-16N51-00 2 per ski

use the old nut , and all other parts from the old skis
I also got dual runners for mine at the same time, so i dont know if the old ones will fit..Sorry i couldnt help more.

the skis are 7" wide. you need spacers, new bushings and a couple other pieces of hardware. richierich and port both sell them and know what is all needed. stock carbides fit. these skis are almost exactly the same as a slp powder pro. i had a set on my attak. they were awesome off trail, but i really didnt care for them a lot on the trail. steering was a little heavy and they darted, even after shimming. on the other hand they will be better than c&a's or powder pros, both on and off trail. i would personally go with slydog powderhounds if you do a lot of trail riding. no matter what skis you get, the rear is harder to keep on top of the snow than the front.

From the top they are a lot like powder pro,s but on the bottom they are different.I posted some pictures of the bottom of powder pro,s awhile back ill see if I can dig them up.

steve 05RX1,

YOU THINK THE POWDER PROS are the way to go? the only reason i want the wide skis are for on the lake by the cottage and in the bush really, will have to always change up skis if i wanna go on trails. not sure or is there a ski like 7 inches wide that works well on the trails sand powder too ?, i would be a pain to change up skis all the time.

thanks JP

I am totally impressed with the powderpros. If your in any kind of snow at all they turn.I can run the outside ski out in the fresh snow over the berm and they still turn. You can go on and off the trails as you like at pretty much any speed and not worry about getting sucked off the trail. They dart less than the stock ski,s as well and work even better with a 1/4 shim under the back of the ski rubber.Keep in mind im from michigan and we dont get as much powder as you probaply do in ontario.

The flotation is very good also.Where the stockers plow through the snow the powder pros stay on top much better.

I took a trip out to wyoming this spring with a 2" track and that was the only time Ive ever noticed any kind of push at all.

As far as switching back and forth ski,s , I think once you try the powderpros your stockers will be hanging in the shed just like mine untill its time to sell the sled.
