For me i don't care who has fastest sled. I just want the sled to be reliable. I don't want the sled in shop during riding season. So what it's a heavy sled at least it is on trail more than in the shop. I love it knowing i don't have to sell or rebuild motor every 10k miles or less. The way the prices on these sleds are going they getting to expensive for alot of people including me. Insurance rates are getting bad considering we only get to ride them for on avg 2 months a year. For me it looks like my 2 apex will be mine for a long time unless the cross plane goes into apex.

I can tell you from being a QA Engineer the past 18yrs that the culture of the japanese compared to a minnesotan(artic cat) are night and day!!I have been to the assembly line in TRF,MN!!most of them are wearing vikings sweatshirts and hats and are thinking about who they are having a beer with that night!!plus there is no 100% final inspection done at the end of the line!!i think i remember there AQL is like 2.5!!there pnuematic tooling calibration is poor also which is directly related too the turbo bolts being loose etc!!the japanese assembly lines have 3x better QA checks and pnuematic tooling!!hopefully this puts things into perspective for ya..

You have got to be kidding you would think they would be better for end of line inspection in quality. That's pretty sad that people don't care about quality in that line of work.

I can not see any benefit of the crossplane that would be better then the genesis engine! Even Chis Reed said the same! But I agree on your Apex choice!

I have read the ski doo forums and i am perplexed as to why the manufacturer didn't put a good cooling system on the 850. For what they are paying for that 850 why would you have to run ice scratchers to help keep it cool. I love the cooling system on my apex. I believe that 850 needs a radiator and fan cooling system to have to not worry about over heating.
