Yamaha is running 1-3-4 at 170 laps into the Soo. First is Gentz Racing, 3rd is Davidson, 4th is Gueco. Race updates can be viewed at i-500,com
At lap 211 (out of 500), Corey, who was down 1 lap, now leads and looks to be running at 80 mph lap speed. He was running 75-77 mph earlier, so the team may have stepped it up. A polaris team is second, with Gentz Racing 3rd and Gueco 4th. These 3 Yammie guys are running Apexes

Seems like the right choice to run the four cylinder instead of the triple, keep us up to date on the results and is the weather a factor in the race?

The weather has been warm, so the track does not have much ice down. It is down to dirt ...

Don't like to hear that. Not good for lubrication.
At lap 260, Corey has a 3 lap (3 mile) lead. Yamaha now 1-2-3

Davidson has been flying in the "last speed" column too. His speed is a little down past the halfway point, but he's been well into the 80s on several of the updates. He sure likes that "go fast, turn left" track!
All biases aside, isn't it bizarre that Arctic Cat has never won the SOO? Plenty of talented riders and horsepower in the early/mid '90s. Do they just not care enough to field any decent riders? Weird.

At lap 300 (2/3 done) - track now being plowed. Corey leads by 4 laps, with Gueco in 2nd and Gentz in 3rd - both on 296th lap. 4th Polaris running on 295 lap and 5th Polaris (Bunke) on 294 lap. S-D in 6th at 291 laps
Now at 363 laps, Corey is still 1st by 3 laps, but Bunke (now in 4th on his Polaris) is moving up. Looks like Gueco (in 3rd - down 6 laps) may be passed by Bunke soon. Gentz/Drydahl is in 2nd, but back by 3 laps from the front. Davidson running 74.2 mph, Drydahl 72.9; Gueco 71.9 Bunke 76.1 mph.

Now it is Corey Davidson in 1st; Gentz/Drydahl in 2nd (-4 laps); then Bunke (Pol - 7) and Dewald (S/D -14).
Corey is running 73.0 mph; Drydahl @ 70.0; Bunke @ 74; Dewald @ 74.2 mph.
