I received a survey about my 05RX1 in the mail yesterday. It is all about the service my local dealer provides. Do you think they really care or is it just a formality? In my case my local dealer was totally useless with my problems. They were so bad I finally traded for a 06. It’s funny how Yamaha insisted they don’t overheat and on the 06’s they have a radiator, a new exhaust and big vents to cut down on engine heat. It finally overheated so bad that the oil boiled and came out the crank case breather and filled the airbox. They kept insisting that I didn't have an overheating problem from the first ride. I even put an extra heat exchanger in the rear at a cost to me of $300 installed. My headlight fuse would blow on every ride. Once on the gas for any extended period of time the machine would simply shut down in the corners and go into Thor hell. Cracked rail. Bushings in the front of the skid completely gone after 1000 miles. Ra boot gone. Too many things to list here...

I was over this and looking forward to my APEX GT. Now they are pissing me off thinking about it again!

Is it worth the time to fill out?
Any one else get one of these surveys?

I don't know specifically about Yamaha but, I can tell you that auto dealers and manufacturers rely on this type of information heavily. The major auto manufacturers will keep a dealership in bussiness if it is struggling as long as the customer surveys support it. But, if a dealership has poor performance in customer satisfaction the manfacturer would shut them down. Customers is what keeps any bussiness running and when you don't have those you don't have a product. I would think that Yamaha would feel the same way.

I'd fill it out and send an additional letter of concern along with it. Make some copies and mail them to Yamaha, the regional rep, and the dealer. I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, hopefully your next sled works better.

i never got a survey....but a couple months ago i sent yamaha a letter and described my likes and dislikes about the 05 rs vector er. they replied to my letter with a thank yu note. prob wont make any diff. but at least they replied and said they app. my feedback.

I got one on my 05 rx1 mtn as well filled it in and made a copy because I did have a cuple of loose fittings etc that should have been tightend for a 9000 + machine :o| they had better put it together right!!!!!!!!! dealer took care of it and has been really good to work with they even called me about the new apex and went and rode it, but I dont have room for the 162 track I have a 151 and that is plenty for me, I told them if they did have a option for a 151 I would have done it, I did keep my stuff for records incase anything else happens on the 05, the 04s have been great, just CYA !!!!!!! I hope this helps. ;)!

I get them and always fill them out. In case of my 02 Viper I filled it out, and sent a letter. I had documented milage and failures. Then an indepth complaint about the shock package. I know other did the same thing and I feel this was a big step in them offering the updated shocks in 03. ===SRXSRULE===

Fill it out. If people don't take the time to do this companies like Yamaha won't take the time to send them anymore :ORC

As far as the radiator goes, that is not an admittance to an overheating problem rather an attempt to keep the temperature maintained at a consistant range for better performance.

Overheating will not cause your oil to come out the crank case breather, excessive pressure in the crank case will do that.

I got one for my vector, But it was all about service, they never asked what I thought of the sled.I filled it out.

What it is is the dealers report card . It is yamahas way of finding out how the dealers are handling any problems that may come up with the sleds . Definatly fill them out it may weed out some of the bad dealers and then better sevice will be availible .
