I picked up a zx2 121 for my 07rtx. The guy has extensions to go 136. I would like to know if i should stay 136 or go 144. This will be a long mile trail sled, with the odd off trail run. I am looking for comfort and but dont want it to push through the corners. Anyone have the 144 that can offer up some trrail experience with the zx2 and if they would do it again.

With 144" you are going to push alot, for long on trail ride you woukd be more happy with 136". You will get a great bump sled with good hookup and not a ton of push.

i have a zx2 136 in my apex it works great if u dont go with the 136 i know some 1 that needs the extensions

You have a 136 relocated to 144 right? I wonder if it might be the same as a zx2? I know that more track on the grround = more push but the manufacturers making them 144 makes me think that it might not be so bad so thats why i ask the zx2 owners.

I run 144" and wouldnt go back.. i run different skis with 6" shapers and very little push in corners. Is it more than stock.. yes.. but not enough to not go that length. Im young and ride aggressive so the little push doesnt bother me. The amount of traction out ways the push in my opinion.

I don't think they have tipped rails for the ZX2 but my mono is setup like that and I love it for on and off trail

I have a 136" Expert X skid set back 3.5" for the 144" Works really well. So if you want you can have both.

Sounds like i will go with the 136. Anyone have any experience with a cobra 136". Have been hearing problems with lugs tearing. Possibly snow conditions causing this?

I only have 600 miles on mine so I cant really say long term but, I have been riding off trail over trees, stomp and rocks for about 500 of those miles. 100 was ice and thin trails. no torn lugs and I have 15 bent studs so I know I've been hitting crap. Handles very well on the trail and huge improvement in the 2'-4' snow. Might be the set back that's making the difference in the powder.
