Agree ! I always have my auger and chainsaw and have had to drill a hole and winch myself out several times. I also am by myself 90% of the time. Ya gotta be prepared for sure.
So for the past 3 weeks I have diagnosed a lack of power on my 2010 VK. The machine would operate great and after driving for a while aNd usually after stopping and fishing...it would severely lack power when I started to go again. Low end and idle seemed fine with the exception of a very rare...
So a few times lately when I start the sled the instrument pod would be dark. Nothing at all..no tach no lights or display. So today I decided to find out which r⁶elay was tied to ignition and powering it. I have struggled with the older manual for 2006 vk as the relay positions are not the...
No it shouldn't be stronger when running. The reason being it's basically CDI ignition fired with an ignitor. The ignitor will function exactly the same with engine running or not because its powered by the battery and fired electronically. Technically there may be a slight difference when...
Unfortunately it's a VK thing and quite normal. Here is what I do now and it works very well once you do it without thinking. If you know you are going to shift...use the brake before you stop completely. Make sure you actually stop because the brake stops u...with brake still engaged grab...
Hello all. I also have been stuck many times. As mentioned..slipping off a trail and angling over is the worst and need to level unless you have room to continue and turn back to trail. When I am stuck in powder and deep snow...as mentioned...never spin the track if you are stuck. 70 percent...
So I was out the other day and my Vk seemed to experience a power loss that happened fairly suddenly..making me think it was electrical. I checked many things and removed plugs and checked for spark etc. I read in the service manual that you need a special tool that allows you to test coil...
I'm throwing this in because I had the exact same problem the other day with my Vk. It was not working hard and running perfectly. I stopped for 10 min...and it did exactly what you described... I believe the electric carb heater relay or temp sensor was keeping heaters on when not needed...
Made a short video explaining how to setup and carb sync my 2010 vk pro. Many of the carb sync guages need checking first and if you havnt done it before this video might help.
3 cylinder engine carb sync
after troubleshooting I determined my stator had packed it in on my 2010 vk professional. Not alot of info out there on how to remove or even get at the stator on the big 4 strokes. Here is a video that hopefully will save some time if you are trying to figure the same.

Fyi another great way to start any engine with empty carbs is to soak a rag in gas and lay over the air filter or in the case of our vk ...open the airbox and drape the rag over carb intakes. It will attempt to start many times and speed up the fuel to the carbs
Thanks for the reply. So is it normal that it would be such loud clunk when it does engage after shifting ? Just sounds harsh unless I purposely try prevent it
Hi all. Trying to figure if i should pull the covers off my vk pro chaincase/transmission. its a 2010 and new to me last fall. Im noticing that after shifting from low gear to hi gear, when the clutch engages there is a significant clunk, very loud and noticeable on the right side and ive...
I have vacuum gauges but actually like using my unisyn guage better. I find it more accurate and easy. Just open airbox and check each one quickly and adjust to same. Check your choke. When I bought mine it was running really rich. The choke would never completely turn off. Was always...
