    RS Nytro 'flutter'

My 05 has accessible screws... but, i've not checked, but my guess is if they are capped, then they did it for emissions so the customer can't change anything. However, they've been doing that on bikes for a long, long time. and on every carb that they updated with a plugged screw, you can...

Heading west for the first time

hmmm... everytime i shut my heaters off when i'm in powder, the carbs ice up horribly. and it's been like that on every yamaha i've owned or been around. Back in the mid 90's when they introduced them on the vmax sleds, it did wonders for them. But i suppose a shut off isn't a big deal, one...

Heading west for the first time

curious why you put a shutoff for the coolant to carbs?? I live in the west, and that's all i've ever known as far as riding, and the heated carbs are an amazing thing. I never shut them off on my vector.

    Moving the skid back, hard?

There are two ways to move the skid back, either with a bracket in the back, or without. I did mine without. And i lost a few mph on the top end, but it goes through the powder substantially better.

PHAZER MTX - 151" TRACK WITHOUT EXTENSIONS

I think as long as your front stays on the original backer plate then you should be ok. Mine was still on it, and i have not had any ill effects, and i don't see any problems coming.

    Season almost done

We are just about right here. 20 miles north and there is about 4 1/2 feet of snow, and 50 miles south and the golf courses are open. Right here we are riding the dunes on wheelers.

Finger tight then loosen about 1/4 turn. that's kind of a basic rule. plus or minus a little won't hurt anything.

    Grease

nice. I have thought about doing that. Just haven't yet. That would probably make the front ends of these last forever i am sure. Did you drill top? bottom? side? any issue with water being forced in?

Are you touching the throttle when you start it? when mine is hot i need to either hold the throttle about 1/8 open or crank it until it fires like four times before letting off the starter.

That's what i was thinking. but didn't turn into like almost a gallon difference? or maybe not quite that much, but it was a considerable difference.
