    Another season

Gen II skis? You have all the lightweight stuff, but wider skis do wonders for the Apex.

    Another season

Always amazed when someone wants to give up an Apex, but also realize everyone has a different style. Even more amazed that you are packing it in for the season, we have another foot or two here on top of a huge base and you must be getting some too.

    Front limiter straps keep breaking......why???

Avoid "wheelie" jumps where you come down on the back of the skid with the throttle pinned, this throws the skid forward, compresses the tension rods, and snaps the limiters. Especially in hard snow. Try to flatten out the landings a bit by letting off the throttle and tapping the brake.

    RIP Apex Mountain

I have ridden the Nytro and it is a great sled, but I will take my '06 Apex any day. Mine had more improvements in the first year than the factory managed in 3 years. Oh well, I have almost 11,000 miles of Mt. riding on it now and will make it 20,000+ if they are going to hang us out to dry...

    2.5" Track Clearance

Helped install a 2.5" x 16 CE last night. I was under the impression it would just clear everything up front, but we ended up trimming the outside corners of the ouside paddles which were catching on the heat exchanger. Better now, but some of the paddles are still rubbing a bit on top just...

    no power to fuel pump????

You will need a new one. You can swap it for the fan relay if you get stranded.

New guy to mountain needs help

The more you ride this sled the more you will like it. Ride it every day and it will do anything you want...Ride it three or four times a year and it will kick your arse.

    Installing a Boss seat

Pull the staples along the edge of your stock seat cover to get the wiring out. The back of the new seat cover should wrap over the black plastic cover to hold it in place.

Making a apex mtn more trail friendly?

Timbersled front is great in the powder, but I like the stock much better for trail or firm snow. Also use the swaybar as mentioned. Also adjust your transfer accordingly.

    2005 RX1 Mtn questions

Here's my take on the Barkbuster after a full season or more: I liked the weight loss; much more responsive and tighter turning radius was very handy; great performance while climbing or boondocking in the powder. Drawbacks included increased darting and bump steer on the pack; harder to keep...

    Bent shock anyone?

Yeah, my theory is that you can get away with it most of the time, but with firm snow and solid traction the track can't spin when you land so all that inertia yanks the rear of the skid up and forward with much greater force than usual. When combined with the weight of the sled coming down...

    radiator and fan removal

I have run without fan, radiator or overflow bottle for two seasons now with no trouble or overheating. I do use scratchers. I just turned the upper hose around spliced it to the lower hose with 2 hose clamps and a short piece of copper tubing. zip tie this to the bar on the outside of the...
