Well I put the Ulmer clutch kit in it also and I'm getting 85 mph on the "dream o meter". I did the mods at the same time. Before mod, stock track and stock clutch I was getting 83 mph. That's with 96 studs in both tracks the stock and the freeride both.
Yea that was me cannondale27. I made you a set just like I made for my sled. Here is a picture of them. You can see them right in front of the reflector. They keep the snow from coming though the hole by the track rotating that direction that sends it right through the hole and on the backs...
Correct the area around the mounting area is cut back 2.5 mm (millimeters). This puts your spindles at a straight perpendicular angle with the ground when the suspension is compressed during turning. Normally the spindle top will pitch out when the suspension is compressed. I noticed this...
Freeride with studs, no doubt about it. One of the best things I ever did to my sled. Here is mine when I installed mine. And yes it pulls it just fine. I did put the Ulmer clutch kit in it though, and I think it pulls much better now and puts much more of the power to the ground.
Thanks. Mine is a little small yet to get on a sled. She can't sit up on her own yet, but she's trying. Won't be long, next year though we'll get her on it.
Did this to my Ball joints this season on my '07 Phazer. I haven't gotten to ride much this year though as I had my first child born this last December when the snow was good. Then we've had a few warm ups that have made the riding less than desireable down state here in MI. So far though I...
I have a stock track for sale also. I have a few more miles on mine, but still in very good shape. Used it just the first season for about 1600 miles, then the second season I changed to the freeride track. I also have 96 Stud Boy power point studs in the track and fully clipped all the...
The springs are 200 lbs/in, I don't remember what the stock rate is. I used them once on my sled then went with a slightly heavier spring. I paid $100 dollars for them and would like to get $75 for them now. They still look new yet. If you want a picture I'll send some to you, just let me know.
I took mine off, because I prefer the independent bump compliance to make it feel more like the bikes I'm used to riding. It works much better for me off the trail, on the track, and in the ditch banging the rough stuff. Most of the time when I'm riding the trails I'm riding with the family so...
yam177 I don't think that the ball joints are the only thing that is toasted on your sled right now, given those pictures you showed us from your last race. Hope all is going well though.
I have 3700 something miles on my sled almost 3800 I believe.
The way to check them is to suspend the the front end so the skis are off the ground (or use a floor jack to jack it up off the ground), then grab the ski just in front of the spindle and just behind it, and lift up on the ski...
Yea that would be great if it didn't cost so much. Thanks for keeping an eye out for me though. That's exactly like what I want, but I was trying to find a set for that much. That's why I was looking to try and find a used set. I know it going to be almost impossible, but I'm still going to try.
They told me that I would get a prorated amount back if I ended the warranty early if I sold the sled or anything. That should apply for you too unless they changed the newer contracts.
