Why do you want to run water in your motor? 0w20 is very thin. I'd got with a 0w40. That makes more sense to me, great at low temperatures and more viscosity when it's hot and these Nytros get hot.
Your results may vary. I've got an old 01 zrt600 and it's never let me down, however my brand new high quality top of the line yamaha blew a motor last year. So reliability... depends.
My Dzus fasteners came in. They're about 1/16" shorter than the stock ones, but they will work. They're a bit tighter fit, but for $3 each instead of $15 I'll take my chances. Happy sledding.
I need a couple hood fasteners and I checked Yamaha and they want $15 each for these Dzus fasteners. WOW. I checked Ebay and found 6 for $18 that works out to about $3 each. I'm not 100% sure they're the exact same size, but I'm going to pick up a set and see. Perhaps we can buy these for a...
I believe I need to unbolt the large bolt on the primary clutch first and then I need a puller. What kind of puller do I need is it Yamaha nytro specific?
You won't bend a subframe, but I did bend or tweak my spindle going 2 mph onto a trailer when the carbide bit the edge of the trailer. That should not happen. My buddy on his 03 polaris PRo XR rammed into his old trailer a lot faster and his carbide bit his ramp and bent the ramp, but nothing...
I think a lot of things shouldn't be bending on these sleds, but hey they shaved 1 lb off each slide rail. 1 lb off the spindles and 3 lbs off the subframe, too bad all this stuff is now bending. Lets bring the weight back. Give me the Nytro with an extra 15 lbs of reinforcement to the weak...
Maybe our motors were built by the same guy at the yamaha plant. By the looks of it, it appears a rod bolt was not torqued properly. I'll have to try calling Yamaha customer service US to see if they can do anything.
To expensive. It's already bid up to almost $3000 us + state tax = 3150 US, then I have to convert to Canadian =3750 +202 RIV fee to import a sled into Canada Plus GST and PST of 13% = $4500. Not worth it and that's assuming it sells for no more than the current bid, but thanks for providing...
I know it's easy to say you're doing the wrong things or not doing the right things, but sometimes things just break. It's not like either of the sleds were run without oil, actually both sleds had clean new oil in them. The YFZ450 spun a rod bearing, these things are known for doing that. Go...
Which US dealer do I call. I didn't buy the sled new, I bought it used from a private sale in the US, not from a US dealer. There's nothing sticking out the bottom of the motor. If you look at the picture you can see the hole and bottom portion of the connecting rod poking out of the engine...
What's I don't understand is that there's a rod bolt sitting on my bellpan. It's not broken, mangled twisted or anything. It's like it wasn't even tightened and it came undone. Oil system worked fine. It had enough oil and the oil was clean. As for the contacting your dealer. I bought this...
Riding conditions. It was -4, theres probably 2-3 feet or hard packed snow on the trail. When the sled got hot and overheated I let it cool for like 15-20 minutes. It sounded like it had a knock when it fired up again and I drove it for like 2 minutes and then boom.
