Thanks guys. My neighbor had suggested using his air rachet, but he said he didnt want to break the bolt off so he wouldn't touch it! 10k sled was too scary for him to mess with haha
I rode it 55 miles today with no problems. It'll be going to the dealership over the next week or 2 sometime...
well it's been an eventful night. Got the chaincase off and all the components inside were all taken off. Go to loosen up the track, that worked fine. Took off both springs and let them hang loose to help with getting the track out. Then I tried to get the front skid bolts out. Right side, no...
I'm new to the whole Yamaha and 4 stroke thing since I came off a 06 Crossfire and a 2006 Rev 800 (which I changed the track on). So I do have a little bit of experience changing out a track. I've seen ttabs post which was a great help. The only worries I have are trying to cut the tunnel...
I bought a nytro xtx because my 06 rev 800 had 3500 miles and I knew the motor was due to expire any day. I rode my friend's nytro 2 years ago and loved the torque of the 4 stroke and overall feel of the sled. Not to mention you can bump the horsepower and keep reliability.
Oh ok thanks. Guess I'll just have to break down and cut those protectors out. Going to be putting in a trail tank at the same time since I'll be riding with a 08 summit 800R. Can't be running out of gas before him. Plus he'll never know I have an over-sized tank! haha
Great help, Thanks.
Anyone know if a 15x144x2.0 NOTCHED (part # 9866) Challenger track will fit in the xtx without cutting out the protectors? It says specified for Polaris and Arctic Cat protectors, but I was thinking maybe this would work on the nytro too? Either way I'm pretty sure I'm...
Did you have to cut the tunnel protectors off in order for the 1.75" track to clear?
I was thinking about getting a 1.75" backcountry, but if I have to cut off tunnel protectors and risk putting a hole in my heat exchanger I think I'll pass.
Ordering a 144x15x1.75" Backcountry track for my Nytro XTX
Does anybody know where there may be a special sale on them or am I just going to have to pay the 650.99? Thanks.
Yes I had this track on my 06 rev 800. After 2 seasons had 4 lugs rip cleanly off at the base. Probable cause was me riding too hard in minimal snow conditions at the end of the season. Overall, nice track I could run with summits offtrail. 136x15x1.75" Considering getting the 144 for my new xtx...
