Well I got mine together this morning, thanks for the info.
When I got my shock back from being serviced the guy told me the same thing about the setting. Both the shock and the adjuster need to be set to Hard. Mine worked fine after I installed it.
I need some help also. My cable was broke so I bought a new one.
Does anyone have pictures or a diagram of how the cable goes back in? I was hanging loose when I took it out. The new cable has a short boot on it. Which end of the cable is this supposed to go on. (I have to snake the new cable...
If you don't mind shipping them, I know a good place to get them revalved in Minnesota. B-Line Control in Lino Lakes just did my wives shocks. He sets them up for your weight, riding style and age. He knows Yamaha shocks also.
Blown Belts on 06 Vector, groove in driven clutch
See the picture.
Is this what people are referring to by the grooves or cups in the drive clutch sheaves? This is on my wifes sled.
Last year she blew 4 or 5 belts. Could this be causing the blown belts? And what is causing the sheaves to...
Just got done taking care of mine also. It sure looked like this would have been an issue very soon, the nub was already digging into the harness.
Cut and filed it off and wire-tied harness out of the way so no possibliltiy of happening.
Thanks all for pointing this out!
Well,
Just got back from the dealer, $175 later.
$100 for the wiring harness and $75 for new foam under the hood and side panels. I could have probably left the panels the way they were, but it just wouldn't feel like a new sled. Now just have to wait a week for the parts.
Thanks for all the...
Well, I know just about every inch of my BRAND NEW '09 XTX (0 miles). When I took it out of storage this fall I noticed that mice had gotten into it and chewed up the hood foam and built nests. When I took it out of my trailer it would not start easily or run very well. Little did I know that...
Are the ski shocks and the monoshock rebuildable on an '06 Vector GT?
They appear to be, but want to make sure. Also, when I was taking the rear skid out I noticed that the cable for adjusting the monoshock was disconnected from the shock. Is this a common occurrence and what do I need to do to...
OK, Now I'm really getting pissed off at Yamaha. See my post from Jan. 1st of this year. That is when I had my 2nd oil tank replaced because it was cracked. Well less then 3 months later and less then 2000 miles later that 3rd tank is cracked and leaking. It screwed up my last ride for the...
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I talked to a guy last weekend and he blew his engine last year because the tank leaked the oil out and the low oil light didn't come on. Yamaha was not going to cover it because it was out of warranty.
Could you post a picture of what you did. I would like to do that to mine.
I think this is what Yamaha should have done or should be doing to fix the existing ones. What did you use for parts?
Two cracked oil tanks on my 2006 Nytro (Same set-up as Vector) with less than 3000 miles on sled. (see my post on Nytro section). Please post if you have had this happen, as Yamaha is saying they are not going to cover the repair this time. The first tank was replaced under warranty.
leaking oil tank
Just checking again to see how many people have had this problem and if there were any repeat problems like mine. I am picking my sled up from the dealer tomorrow with the 3rd oil tank. Yamaha is saying they aren't going to cover this new tank under warranty, even though it...
Oil resevoir leaking again
Just wanted to post an update to the problem I had last year.
This past weekend I was riding and noticed oil dripping from the belly pan. Turns out the tank that was replaced last February is already cracked and leaking. Took it back to the dealer. I hope that...
It's more than likely your oil resevoir leaking from hairline cracks at the front mounting bracket. That is what happened to mine. Only leaks when running. Luckilly mine was still under warranty (0nly 1400 miles). I am now worried about my wifes which has 1900 miles on it.
