The Yamaha fall promo's come out right about now, mid to late August. I'm waiting myself, to see what I can score an '07 laftover for. In the past, Yamaha has offered as much as $2K in rebates on the high end sleds....
The Polaris Edge chassis use 2 under tunnel heat exchangers strips, each about 1-1/2" wide spanning the length of the tunnel , as well as a bulkhead exchanger.
I have done a lot of reading up on these models prior to my purchasing a sled for this season. I am reading a lot of overheating issues with Apexes and Attaks. I just want to share my overheating experiences that I had for a season with my 2002 Polaris Edge X 600. There were a lot of issues with...
WD40 is good, but Bombadier storage oil is even better. It's sprays on, then dries a bit and remains thick and viscous on your metal parts for a much longer period of times. I use the stuff on all my powersports and lawn/garden power items. Humid warm days and cool nights fester a TON of...
Thanks for the experences guys!
I have a 10' Sledbed trailer, with a Sno-Pro cap. If worse come to worse, i'll cut the rear bumper, shorten it a bit as needed and re-weld it. Sounds like I won't have issues. My sales buddy who works at my dealer did coment that an Attak will just barely fit...
Now to make my upcoming sled choice even more difficult, I realized my Yamaha dealer also has an 07' Attak, and an Attak GT leftovers..
Heres my next question: Can the Attak's be trailered in a 10' Clam shell type trailer? Seems like the more veteran sleddders I talk to advise me to get a...
Thanks ahicks for all your in-depth experience based feedback. Definately sounds like the RTX will be the wrong sled for my needs. I am hard on a sled, but not as hard as you. I will be leaning towards the ER, or maybe even the GT if the GT ends up not being a ton more money.. Thanks again all...
OK, so the '07 RTX has whacked out valving as I understand the feedback here. Sounds like after a $200ish revalve, the RTX is far better suspended.
Can the ER's shock be revalved as well if one doen not like the shock behavior?
Sorry for all my questions, my last sled was a 2002 Polaris...
I work for a Yamaha dealer in MA. I can get any sled for dealer cost minus any factory incentive rebates. As soon as Yamaha introduces their leftover promo's I'll get some final $$ #'s. My shop has an '07 Apex GT, and '07 Apex RTX, and an '07 Apex ER . I should be able to score a sled for cheap...
SO TRUE !
Back in my 20's when I was young, stupid, and wanted my MXZ583 to run with a MachZ 780 I tried every friggin "bolt-on" hop-up gimmick know to man, yet my sled never got faster. Why? An engine is an air pump, the more air in, the more air needs to be let out. And once you have...
Hey guys,
I am thinking about purchasing an '07 leftover Apex. Help me make up my mind. Will I be happy with a basic ER, or is the RTX better suspended? I do a 60/40 mix of casual 50 mph trail riding, but also will want the capability to thrash through rougher New England garbage trails if need...
Just a tip with Yammi financing, be VERY carefull and completely read the tiny fine print at the bottom of the Retail Services (Yammi credit) contract.
I purchased my '07 YZ450F using the 6.99% financing promo for the life of the loan. All the yammi "no, no, no"( interest/payments/down...
